The Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL) from Shandong Lingxiang New Material Co., Ltd. stands as a marvel of engineering, blending high-expansibility sodium base bentonite with specialized composite geotextile and nonwoven fabric. Crafted through advanced needle punching or stitching techniques, this premier composite material ensures impeccable water impermeability. The innovative use of needle punching forms numerous small fiber spaces, ingeniously trapping bentonite particles within, preventing them from flowing uni-directionally. Upon contact with water, the mat metamorphoses into a uniformly dense, colloidal waterproof layer, effectively halting water leakage. For enhanced waterproofing tailored to diverse project needs, the GCL can be seamlessly integrated with an HDPE liner. Bentonite's water expansion attributes are unrivaled; while general calcium-based bentonite expands to merely thrice its size, sodium-based bentonite absorbs water up to five times its weight, expanding its volume 15 to 17 times its original. Locked securely between two geosynthetic layers, the geotextile and nonwoven fabric safeguard and bolster the sodium-based bentonite, endowing the GCL with formidable overall shear strength and resilience.
