Our distinguished Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL) is a sophisticated blend of the highly expansive sodium bentonite, elegantly nestled between premium composite geotextile and a resilient nonwoven fabric. Crafted through innovative needle punching or stitching techniques, this composite material achieves outstanding impermeability. The strategic needle punching effectively creates innumerable micro-fiber spaces, ensuring bentonite particles remain immobile in any direction. Once exposed to water, it metamorphoses into a uniformly dense colloidal waterproof barrier, effectively thwarting water seepage. For enhanced waterproofing in diverse projects, GCL can be seamlessly integrated with an HDPE liner. Notably, bentonite exhibits remarkable water expansion properties. While conventional calcium bentonite expands up to thrice its dry volume, sodium bentonite astonishingly adsorbs water up to five times its weight, expanding to 15-17 times its original volume. The geotextile and nonwoven fabric securely contain the sodium bentonite within dual layers of geosynthetic materials, delivering unmatched protection and strength, and bestowing GCL with commendable shear strength.
